The Fire Department Christmas party was held Friday December 4th. Attendance was down due to some being sick and a few work issues, but a good time was had by all. The department has been extremely busy this year. As of now we have had over 750 calls which is an increase of 100 plus calls over last year and is a record number in the history of the department.

The total number of training hours thus far is 5867. Individuals were recognized for state certifications in EMT, Firefighter Level 1 and 2, Advanced Firefighter, Child Protective Seat Technician, Fire/Life Safety Educator, Emergency Vehicle Driver, Driver Operator-Pumps, Technical Rescue Instructor, National Fire Academy Leadership Instructor. Deputy Chief Jayson Harwood received the departments first Fire Protection Technology Degree Certificate which involved many hours of dedication and hard work. Awards were given to Chance Hensley and Rex Harwood for Responder of the Year. Jeff Payne for Excellence in Fire Prevention. Seth Evans and Kevin Tipton received the Training Officer's Award. Kevin Tipton was Firefighter of the Year and David Rice was Officer of the Year.

Congratulations to these folks and a big "THANK YOU" to the entire department for the hard work and dedication this year. A big thanks to Chief Mundy for all his support. A special gift was presented to the Treasurer of the Board of Directors for all of his work. Mr. Joe Merrill saves the department a huge amount of expense. Thanks to our community for their support of the department.
